Brown Girl RDHMartelle established BrownGirlRDH in 2018 to create a platform for women in dental hygiene to connect, share experiences, and provide support. Under her leadership, BrownGirlRDH has organized events, meetups, and conferences, as well as established scholarship funds for aspiring dental hygienists. Martelle is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the field, actively promoting equal opportunities and representation for women of color. She is also a sought-after speaker and educator, delivering presentations and workshops on dental hygiene and professional development. MISSIONShift the mindset about who can work in the dental hygiene field, remove cultural and economic barriers to joining the dental hygiene workforce, establish and promote pathways to dental hygiene careers.We serve as an advocate for all Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) and students; working for a healthier and more diverse climate. Recent statistics show that minorities are represented in the field of Dental Hygiene at less than 4% and men represented at less than 1%. BrownGirl, RDH supports dental hygiene students by providing supplemental support outside of tuition costs; covering clinical supplies, equipment, and examination fees. |
